The purpose of this page is to chart the restoration of the building starting with some pictures of how it looked when we took ownership of it in August 2015.

We plan to fully refurbish the house part of the property with new windows and doors , reslate the roof , fully damp proof and insulate the whole building. We hope to add 2 Velux windows to the rear of the roof and we plan to knock through into the old byre to make a kitchen , something the property currently does not have !  We hope to fit underfloor heating fed from an air source heat pump.  We also hope to utilise the remains of the old shed and convert it into a "sitooterie" to be able to enjoy the stunning views from.

On the smiddy half , we will redo the roof and fit windows and doors but leave everything else as it has been since it closed in 1949. We hope to be able to open the Smiddy to visitors for several days throughout the summer months to let other see and enjoy this timewarp.
